Hey everyone!
Here is just a
fun and quick blog post, I came across this image (http://mashable.com/2012/10/12/the-10-types-of-social-media-addict-infographic/) a couple weeks ago that listed 10 types
of social media addicts and I thought it would be fun to share it with you guys
and turn it into a blog post.
At the end of
the post once you have read and thought about them all, I want you to tell me
which one you most relate to or if you relate to more than one ( if so, make
sure to list them all). Make sure you explain your answers!
Lets get
started!!
1. The Alert Lover: You set your phone to receive audible alerts whenever anything happens.
1. The Alert Lover: You set your phone to receive audible alerts whenever anything happens.
2. The Social Guru: You have proclaimed yourself a “Social
Media Guru” on your business card.
3.The Verb Creator:
You turn social media
sites into verbs.
4. The Vowel Hater: You drop out every possible vowel from
your tweets because you are intent on making the most of the 140 characters.
5. The Blog Referencer: You answer most questions with “ You
should read my blog post about that.”
6. The Self-Proclaimed
Influencer: You
regularly check your level of “influence” on every social-scoring site
available.
7. The Multi-Mayor: You take the time to check in at
locations as you drive by.
8. The Liker: You use the “like” button instead of posting a quick
comment.
9. The Constant Checker: You turn on your phone every 2 minutes,
with no regard for your location or present company, to check how your
Instagram, status update, or Tweet is being received.
10. The Freak Out-er: You freak out when a social media site
goes down.
So which
one/ones are you, leave a comment below with your answer and don’t forget to
explain!

Hello Karley
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the humor with this blog because it is strange that people are sadly atleast one of these. Many of us actually would place ourselves in multiple categories that you mention. If I were to put myself in one of these categories I would definitely place myself in the “Constant Checker.” I find myself always checking in all the time even if I already had checked just 5 minutes before hand. I find that I even check at the most inconvenient times but I don’t want to miss out on anything. You never know when new news pops up so I tend to always be logged on so I don’t have to find out later from someone I would rather say I saw it first. There quite a few different types of users but I found that this video was very humorous and describes different types of Facebook users; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gwEmg7b_is . I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I did.

Karley,
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kristie in that the humor of this post is fantastic and that I also believe that everyone online and active in social media is one of these characters. The character that I identified with the most was the "Liker". More often than not I find it easier to like a person's post rather than comment on it. I not only do this because it's easier but because Facebook only sends out notifications when other people comment on the post and not to those who just like it.I don't know why but sometimes too many notifications can get really annoying.
I found a blog post that you might like that goes with this theme of different types of characters. It is the 10 types of people on twitter organized from the annoying to the really annoying which is the promoters and I have to agree with that choice because there is nothing more annoying then someone trying to sell you something!
